This past weekend, Daryl and I journeyed to my homeland of NY, for my family Christmas celebration. It was a great trip. Altho the roads weren't great, they had 6-8 inches of beautiful brand new snow, and it was perfect for a Christmas weekend.
The real reason we made the trip, though, was for a wedding. Kendra, a fellow NY-er, was marrying her sweetheart Wesley, all the way from Southern Indiana. We were honored that they chose us as their wedding photographers, esp. since one of us is approx. 4 wks away from having a baby. I know posting this is a little out of order with what I've been doing lately, but I am so excited about these images that I can't help but give these guys a sneak peek. You will understand when you see what they had to put up w/ to get outdoor images! I will resume catching up on our posting backlog of all our fabulous fall weddings later this week.
First off, the beautiful bride herself.....and her gorgeous blue eyes. By now you know that gorgeous eyes are my absolute favorite thing to photograph, and Kendra's definately are that! I always knew her eyes were blue, but never realized how blue until I was editing these images. Wow!
And her charming happy groom, Wesley.
Her beautiful bouquet.
There, now can you see? Yes, that is fresh snow. We were actually very excited about shooting a wedding in the snow, because we knew it would make for great images....and that we could be bundled up! These guys, however, wow, what can I say, but what good sports they were. Not a word of complaining about being cold. They deserve great pictures for that very reason! I must say, snow is much more beautiful then mud and brown dead wintry trees w/o snow. It was actually still coming down during these first images.
See, don't they look as happy as if it were a balmy 75 degrees??
That gorgeous bouquet again. We only used it for a little while because we didn't want it to be ruined by the cold.
I love this image.
Sweetness and happiness.
The bridal party. It was kinda a bummer about the flowers, but if they would have frozen they would have turned brown, which would not have been cool.
The personal attendants were just too cute!
Our second location was a trainstation turned grocery store. I think the regular patrons did a double take to see a wedding party hanging out on the front porch of their local grocery.
Can't help myself w/ these baby blues!
And on to the reception. SO many fun litle details to shoot. We had a blast w/ them!
Love the little buckets of roses for centerpieces!
The center of the bridal table.
Ooh, I could drink one of these right now, I think!
